Top Quotes: Dolphins Look to Rebound Against Chargers

The Dolphins will the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium. Despite a pair of back-to-back losses, the Bolts present challenges as they look to right the ship.

Miami is searching for answers of their own after a narrow defeat at Carolina in Week 5. The loss dropped the Dolphins to 1-4 on the season. Captains and leaders of the team are focused on making sure everyone continues to pull in the same direction to get back on the winning side.

Keep Chopping Wood

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa – "We've got to look at it [as if] every game is its own season, but we've got to cut all of that out now and we've got to start now if we want to make a run and we want to start making moves."

Center Aaron Brewer - "Just don't get too down on yourself and make anything bigger than it is. You're not as far off as you think you are. You critique one little thing in your technique, and you can be hitting that sweet spot. Just stay in the film room, when we're on the field the little things that you know you need to fix, lock in on it, focus on it and get better."

Outside Linebacker Jaelan Phillips – "I think that we have all the right guys. We have plenty of talent, great coaches and a lot of high character guys that really care about each other. I think ultimately, we're still making strides. This last game was obviously disappointing and could've gone a different way if we continued to push on the momentum we had, but I don't think we're writing ourselves off by any means."

Chargers Challenges

Head Coach Mike McDaniel on Chargers QB Justin Herbert - "I think his ability to extend plays and while doing that, make a defense cover the entire field. He can put the ball across the field 50 yards on the other hash, so when he's using his athletic ability, he stresses your plaster and your connectivity to eligibles down the field. That threat of arm and legs, I think he's a competitor, I think he keeps getting better and he's someone that the opposing team is in charge of minimizing his production. You don't take him away or make him not be able to do, he's generally going to find some production and affect the game, but like you have to with a big guy in our division, it's strength in numbers and being connected to each other and responsibilities, rush lanes and strain."

Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick - "They have talent all the way across the board, from outside all the way into the backfield. They're a physical team. They like to run the ball, but they also have a quarterback and receivers who can hurt you. So it's a game that you have to go into and come into the game with a really well-rounded game plan."

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on Chargers Safety Derwin James – "I definitely would say he's a gamechanger when it comes to what you want to do offensively in terms of him wanting to blitz, him wanting to be in the box show blitz and then dropping a zone or play man. The way they try to disguise it, I think they do a really good job doing so with Derwin (James)."
