What is your all-time favorite win over the Buffalo Bills?

One of my all-time favorite wins over the Bills is the Dec. 4, 2005 game. Being down by 21 in the fourth quarter didn't look promising, but the team kept fighting and topped off the fantastic comeback with a Chris Chambers TD catch with only six seconds left in the game. The doom and gloom in the shed turned into one of the best postgame celebrations in a long time! It's always fun beating Buffalo, but to do so in such dramatic fashion just makes it all the better. Hoping we don't need the heroics this week and the team gives us Dolphins fans a heart friendly win!

Beating Buffalo in the playoffs of the 1998 season was a significant win in that represented a departure from the Bills' dominance. This was a team that I feared through much of the 1990s, while they represented the AFC in four straight Super Bowls. A playoff win for the Dolphins is sweet, but only made sweeter at the hands of a former powerhouse division rival.

Last season's game in Buffalo was special. Andrew Franks booted a 55-yarder to send us into OT and then kicked the game winner to send us into the playoffs. But my favorite Bills game was one I attended in Buffalo on Oct. 5, 1992. Both teams were undefeated and my cousin, who was the Regional Sales Manager for Coca-Cola, gave me two great seats that Coke had in the second row at the 15-yard line, Miami side of the field. My buddy and I drove up from New Jersey the night before and stayed in the Hilton. We went to get some dinner and we ran into Dan Marino out back and got his autograph. The Bills had a great team having lost the previous two Super Bowls so I told Dan "Don't forget, we are in first place, too." The next morning, we went to the game at Rich Stadium and their tailgaters were throwing food and empty cans at us as we walked around outside. Inside was no better, as plastic cups rained down on us when their fans finished their drinks. We had the last laugh though as we won big, 37-10, with Louis Oliver picking off three passes, including one in the end zone and returning it for a 103-yard TD. Their fans quieted down in the third quarter and on the way out they actually complimented our team for kicking their butts.

For me, has to be the 1992 game up in Buffalo. The Bills were two-time defending AFC champions and usually beat us in that era. We went to their back yard and trounced them 37-10, with the highlight of course being when Louis Oliver intercepted Kelly in the end zone and ran the length of the field to score. Jim Kelly would be intercepted three more times during the game. Neither team could run the ball effectively, but Thurman Thomas and Bobby Humphrey made up for it by catching balls out of the backfield ending up with the most receptions on either team.

My all-time favorite Dolphins-Bills and the one that sticks in my mind the most (and yes, I know this is supposed to be my favorite win but it was a win in a different sort of way) was the 1983 game that served as the debut, as the starter for the Phins, of Dan Marino. All Marino did that day was blow things up offensively and even though we lost 38-35 in overtime you couldn't help but think, holy hell we've got something here! I had to go search for the actual stats for the game but Marino was 19 of 29 that game for 322 and 3 TDs, not bad for his debut. Interestingly as a side note, WR Mark Clayton also threw for a 48-yard TD in that game.

My all-time favorite win over the Buffalo Bills is by far the Oct. 4, 1992 game in Buffalo where Miami won 37-10 and it was highlighted by the 103-yard interception return for a touchdown by Louis Oliver. Winning in Buffalo is never easy especially in the early 90s when the Bills were at their peak in franchise history and in the middle of their run to four straight Super Bowls which is why this game really stood out as a statement win. Oliver had the game of his life with 3 interceptions and the last one being run back 103 yards for a touchdown was a thing of beauty. When I think back to the big wins the Dolphins had in the early 90s this game always comes to mind.

I'd have to say the "Ride Them Buffaloes" game, as my dad and I refer to it, is easily the favorite for me. There have been so many great games against the Bills over the years - but seeing Louis Oliver's giant and dominant game is one of those games that my father and I constantly reference during Dolphins games to this day. Marino tossed 3 TDs in the game, but nothing loomed larger than Louis Oliver in this game. It was easily Oliver's three interceptions, including the 103-yard touchdown, that sealed this game for Miami and his place in Dolphins history.

There have been many thrilling and satisfying wins against the Bills. One in particular stands out to me, a road game I attended in person: Jim Kelly's final home game vs the Dolphins at Rich Stadium in 1996. Protecting a 14-7 lead late in the 4th quarter, it was up to the Dolphin defense to preserve the win. Things got tense towards the end of the game when Kelly drove the Bills down to the Dolphin one-yard line; it seemed certain the Bills would tie the game. However, on fourth and goal Kelly tried to force a pass into WR Andre Reed but CB Terrell Buckley was waiting. He stepped in front of Reed, picked off the pass in stride and returned the interception 99 yards for the dagger that would seal the win for the Dolphins. Dol-Fans in attendance went wild, while Bills fans stood and booed Kelly lustily. That was a very satisfying win! Ron Weiss, Ron's World of Miami Dolphins I was at the Jan. 2, 1999 playoff game. It was a nail bitter at the end as the Bills were driving, but Trace Armstrong put an end to the drive with a sake and forced fumble giving the Fins the win.
