Fitzpatrick passed for a season-high 419 yards and four touchdowns in the Dolphins' 38-35 overtime victory against the Cincinnati Bengals at Hard Rock Stadium. Fitzpatrick joined Dan Marino as the only quarterback in Dolphins history to pass for 400 yards and four touchdowns in a regular season game.
It was the sixth 400-yard passing performance of his 15-year NFL career.
Fitzpatrick also was nominated for his performance in the 26-18 victory against the New York Jets in Week 9 and for his performance in the 37-31 victory against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13, though the awards ended up going to Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks and Mitchell Trubisky of the Chicago Bears, respectively.
