The Miami Dolphins announced today their team award winners for the 2025 regular season. Running back De'Von Achane was voted the Dan Marino Most Valuable Player, linebacker Jordyn Brooks earned the Don Shula Leadership Award, linebacker Cameron Goode was named the team's Ed Block Courage Award winner and tight end Julian Hill was honored with the Nat Moore Community Service Award.
Achane is the Dan Marino Most Valuable Player, an award voted on by South Florida media who regularly cover the team. The award was renamed the Dan Marino Most Valuable Player Award in 2000 to reflect the achievements of the Hall of Fame quarterback and 12-time team MVP.
Achane was responsible for more than one-third of the team's total offensive touchdowns and total yards from scrimmage in 2025. He leads the league in yards per carry (5.8) and ranks fifth in rushing yards (1,350) entering Week 18. He became the Dolphins' 12th 1,000-yard rusher and the fourth to do so in the first 12 games of a season. He is also among the top running backs in receiving production this year, ranking fourth in receiving yards (488) and receptions (67), while tying for fifth in receiving touchdowns (four). His 1,838 yards from scrimmage are ranked fifth in the league this year and are the second most in a single season in Dolphins history. He has recorded 3,057 rushing yards on 545 attempts and 22 touchdowns in his career, along with 172 receptions for 1,277 yards and 13 receiving scores. He became the first Dolphins player ever to total 2,000-plus rushing yards and 1,000-plus receiving yards in his first three NFL seasons. His 3,057 career rushing yards are the eighth most in Dolphins history and the most by a Dolphins player in the first three years of his career.
Achane is the sixth running back to earn the honor and the first since 2016, joining Jay Ajayi (2016), Ricky Williams (2009), Tony Nathan (1981), Delvin Williams (1978) and Joe Auer (1966). He is the first player drafted by Miami to earn the award since Jaylen Waddle in 2021. Achane was selected by Miami in the second round (84th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Brooks is the 2025 recipient of the Don Shula Leadership Award, which is voted on by the players and given to the teammate who best exhibits leadership on and off the field. The award was renamed the Don Shula Leadership Award in 2005 to reflect the accomplishments and impact of the Hall of Fame coach.
Brooks is the first linebacker to earn the award since 2011 and the eighth in Dolphins history, joining Karlos Dansby (2010-11), Zach Thomas (1998-99, 2005), Junior Seau (2003-04), Derrick Rodgers (2000-01), Bryan Cox (1992), Cliff Odom (1991) and Hugh Green (1990). Brooks who joined the team as a free agent in 2024, was voted a team captain by his teammates for the first time in his career ahead of his second season with the Dolphins in 2025.
In his sixth NFL season, Brooks has started all 16 games this year and has been the NFL's leading tackler since Week 4. He's tallied 174 tackles (95 solo), 3.5 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, three passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery this season. He is the only player in the NFL this year to post 150-plus tackles, 10-plus tackles for loss and at least 3.0 sacks. He is also one of only five players this season to record nine games of double-digit tackles and the only one to post two games of 18 stops or more. Brooks has tallied 317 total tackles since joining the Dolphins in 2024, the most by a player in his first two years with the team since 1994.
Goode is the team's Ed Block Courage Award recipient, which is selected by the Dolphins' athletic training staff and symbolizes professionalism, courage and inspiration, while also serving as a role model in the South Florida community.
Goode suffered a knee injury in Week 18 of the 2023 season against the Buffalo Bills, sidelining him for the majority of the 2024 season. He remained committed to his teammates throughout 2024, maintaining a positive and constant presence in the locker room while diligently undergoing his rehab process. Goode also remained engaged in the community during his rehab, participating in several team- and player-led community events. He returned to action for the Dolphins' 2024 Week 16 matchup against San Francisco and has continued to play a key role in Miami's defensive and special teams units. Goode has played in all 16 games this season, recording six tackles (one solo) and one pass defensed, along with 15 special team tackles (six solo).
Hill is the winner of the Nat Moore Community Service Award, given annually to a Miami Dolphins player recognized for his exemplary commitment to serving the South Florida community. This award was named after former Dolphins player and Ring of Honor member Nat Moore in 1987, who spent 13 seasons in a Dolphins uniform and made an equally profound impact off the field, which he continues to this day as a senior vice president for the team.
Since joining the Dolphins in 2023 as an undrafted free agent, Hill has actively sought to serve and lead in the South Florida community. Driven by his own journey in foster care, Hill has dedicated his energy and resources to youth mentorship, development and foster care advocacy. He regularly visits His House Children's Home, a nonprofit organization based in Miami Gardens dedicated to housing and caring for more than 200 children facing abandonment, abuse or neglect. He helped fund a new gym, surprised the kids with holiday gifts and brings meals to share on his monthly visits. Throughout the year, Hill also hosted youth groups, primarily children in foster care, at a training camp practice and regular season games both at Hard Rock Stadium and in his home state of North Carolina.
Hill also volunteers and helps lead team efforts to serve, speaking at local schools and engaging with youth as part of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools "Values Matter Miami" core initiative to foster positive behavior and build community.
All of the above players are first-time winners of the team's end-of-season awards.
