Inside the Numbers: Brooks, Patterson, Sieler reach individual accomplishments in loss to Patriots

The Dolphins finished the 2025 season Sunday with a loss to New England in Foxborough. Despite a 7-10 record, Dolphins players set franchise records and led the league in major statistics. Miami also reached rare air with their season-long rushing attack and field goal blocking.

We go Inside the Numbers, presented by BDO, to look at the most notable individual metrics, milestones and more from the Dolphins season finale loss in New England.

Brooks finishes league's top tackler

Dolphins captain linebacker Jordyn Brooks finished off a stellar season with a game-high nine tackles in New England. He finished the season as the NFL's leading tackler with 183 stops and became the second Dolphin to lead the league in that category since tackles became an officially tracked statistic in 1994 (Zach Thomas, 2002 & 2006). His 183 tackles matched his career high from 2021 with Seattle.

Patterson's franchise record

Kicker Riley Patterson converted 27 of his 29 field goal attempts in 2025, setting a single-season franchise record with a 93.1 field goal percentage. He surpassed Jason Sanders' All-Pro 2020 season when he made 92.3 percent of his field goals.

Sieler returns field goal to sender

The Dolphins blocked a field goal for a second-straight week when defensive tackle Zach Sieler put hands on an Andres Borregales field goal attempt in the second quarter. The deflection was recovered and returned for 10 yards by rookie cornerback Jason Marshall Jr.

It marked the first time since Weeks 8 and 9 in 2012 season, and just the second time in franchise history, that the Dolphins blocked a field goal in consecutive weeks.

Sieler also recorded a tackle for loss in the game, his 10th of the season. It marked Sieler's third consecutive season with at least 10 tackles for loss joining Tennessee's Jeffery Simmons as the only defensive tackles to record at least 10 tackles for loss in each of the past three seasons.

Milestones and achievements

The Dolphins finished the 2025 season with 2,044 rushing yards, marking just the fourth time in the last 40 seasons and the 16th time overall the team totaled 2,000-plus yards on the ground.
