The Dolphins enjoyed a comprehensive, complementary victory over in-state rival Tampa Bay on Sunday. On offense, defense and special teams, rookies and veterans alike contributed to the seventh win of the season. The Dolphins took a 10-7 lead in the second quarter, a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
We go Inside the Numbers, presented by BDO, to look at the most notable individual metrics, milestones and more from the Dolphins victory over the Buccaneers.
Ewers's encore
In his second career start, Ewers completed 14-of-22 passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns passed with a 118.0 passer rating. He completed 5-of-7 passed on third downs for 102 yards, including both touchdowns, for a rating of 153.3.
Ewers' play vaulted the Dolphins to a 17-7 halftime lead. He became the first Dolphins rookie to throw two touchdown passes in a half since Dan Marino in 1983.
Rookies everywhere
With one more game left in the 2025 season, the Dolphins rookie class is tracking to lead the NFL in snaps taken by first-year players. Miami's rookie class has played 3,020 snaps, 188.8 snaps per game.
Sunday, the rookies did more than rack up reps, they piled up statistics. Cornerback Jason Marshall Jr. recorded his first career interception in the second quarter, picking off Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield on a downfield pass and returning it 24 yards. The Miami native is the first Dolphins rookie to record an interception since Kader Kohou picked off Aaron Rodgers vs. Green Bay on Christmas Day 2022. Marshall totaled five tackles (three solo), a tackle for loss, the interception and two passes defensed.
Marshall Jr. is the only rookie in the NFL to record such a stat line this season and the first Dolphins player to do so since Jerome Baker at the N.Y. Jets on Nov. 24, 2023.
The Dolphins drafted three defensive tackles in April and all three contributed to this win. Kenneth Grant, Jordan Phillips and Zeek Biggers combined for six tackles, a quarterback hit and a blocked field. The Bucs ran the ball 16 times for 53 yards against Miami's stout, young defensive front, just 3.3 yards per carry.
Another week, another Achane record watch
It was another game with 100 yards from scrimmage for Pro Bowl running back De'Von Achane. He totaled 112 yards giving him 10 games this season of more than 100 yards from scrimmage.
Achane climbed to second in Dolphins history with 1,838 yards from scrimmage, passing a pair of Tyreek Hill seasons (2022 and 2023) and Ricky Williams's 2003 season. Only Williams in 2002 (2,216) had more yards from scrimmage in a single season than Achane's 2025 campaign.
Achane had three carries of 10-plus yards in the game, adding to his league leading 40 rushes of 10-plus yards this season.
Put Dulcich down for 40, again
Tight end Greg Dulcich caught five passes for 58 yards and his first touchdown as a Miami Dolphin. His 58 yards were a season high and the third-most receiving yards in his career. Dulcich has produced at least 40 receiving yards in each of the last four games and five of his nine games with the Dolphins.
Milestones and achievements
Center Andrew Meyer made his NFL debut and first career start. He didn't surrender a single quarterback pressure and did so matching up against potential future Hall of Fame defensive tackle Vita Vea.
