Inside the Numbers: Trader Jr. leads the defense, Waddle and Achane power the offense in loss to Ravens

The Dolphins fell to 2-7 on Thursday night with a loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Miami started hot, but it was the visitors who seized control in the second half. Three turnovers, paired with four touchdown passes from Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson, resulted in a 28-6 loss in primetime for Miami.

We go Inside the Numbers, presented by BDO, to look at the most notable individual metrics, milestones and more from the Dolphins loss to the Ravens.

Brooks and Trader tackles

Linebacker Jordyn Brooks, fresh off AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors, racked up eight tackles on Thursday. It marked Brooks's sixth time this season with at least eight stops. His season total is now up to 93 tackles, the most in the NFL.

Since joining the Dolphins as a free agent in 2024 Brooks has 236 total tackles, the most in the NFL in that span entering the weekend and the most by a player in his first two seasons with the team since 2000.

Rookie safety Dante Trader Jr. led the team with a career-high 12 tackles, the most by a Dolphins rookie since Derrick Pope tallied 13 tackles in 2004 against Denver.

Waddle climbs the leaderboard

Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle caught six passes for 82 yards. Waddle has tallied at least 75 yards in four of the five contests since Week 5, tied for the most in the NFL during that span. Entering the weekend, Waddle ranks seventh in the NFL with 586 receiving yards.

Achane goes over the century mark again

Running back De'Von Achane recorded 14 carries for 67 yards and six receptions for 39 yards. It marked the fourth game this season with 100-plus scrimmage yards and the 16th of his career. Through Thursday, Achane's 880 scrimmage yards are the fourth most in the NFL, while his 606 rushing yards rank sixth. His 274 receiving yards are the third most by a running back in the NFL entering the weekend.

Achane's first quarter carry for 22 yards was his sixth rush of 20-plus yards this season, tying Indianapolis' Jonathan Taylor for the most runs of 20-plus yards in the NFL through Thursday's game.
