The Miami Dolphins announced today that they have signed cornerback Cornell Armstrong and offensive lineman Obinna Eze. The team also placed cornerback Artie Burns on the injured reserve list and waived offensive lineman Tedi Kushi.
Armstrong has appeared in 40 career games with four starts in four seasons with Miami (2018), Houston (2019-20) and Atlanta (2022), totaling 43 tackles (31 solo) and seven passes defensed. He also spent time on the practice squad with Atlanta (2021) and Las Vegas (2023-24). Armstrong entered the NFL as a sixth-round selection (209th overall) by Miami in the 2018 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Southern Miss (2014-17), where he appeared in 47 games with 40 starts and totaled 146 career tackles (108 solo), five interceptions and 34 passes defensed.
Burns, who signed with Miami on March 19, 2025, has appeared in 90 career games with 39 starts in nine seasons with Pittsburgh (2016-19), Chicago (2020-21) and Seattle (2022-24). He has totaled 192 tackles (151 solo), four interceptions, 38 passes defensed, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. He also started in four postseason games with Pittsburgh in 2016 and 2017, recording 15 tackles (11 solo), two passes defensed and one fumble recovery. Burns entered the league as a first-round selection (25th overall) by Pittsburgh in the 2016 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at the University of Miami (2013-15), where he appeared in 36 games with 23 starts and recorded 93 tackles (65 solo), 2.0 sacks, 3.0 tackles for loss, seven interceptions, 14 passes defended, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in three seasons with the Hurricanes.
Eze entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Detroit in 2022 and has spent time on the practice squad with the Lions (2022-23), Pittsburgh (2023) and the New York Jets (2024). He finished his collegiate career at TCU (2021), where he started 12 games at left tackle. He transferred from Memphis (2017-20) following the 2020 season after starting 31 games at left tackle in four seasons with the Tigers.
Kushi, who signed with Miami as an undrafted college free agent on May 9, 2025, played his final two collegiate seasons at Western Michigan (2023-24), where he appeared in 24 games with 23 starts. He transferred from Long Island University (2020-23), where he appeared in 23 games with 17 starts in four seasons and was named the 2022 NEC Offensive Lineman of the Year.
