Dolphins Make Roster Moves

The Miami Dolphins announced today they have signed cornerback Cornell Armstrong to the active roster off the practice squad and placed offensive lineman Austin Jackson on the injured reserve list. The team also elevated kicker Riley Patterson and running back Jeff Wilson Jr. to the active roster for Sunday's game.

Armstrong has appeared in 40 career games with four starts in four seasons with Miami (2018), Houston (2019-20) and Atlanta (2022), totaling 43 tackles (31 solo) and seven passes defensed. He also spent time on the practice squad with Atlanta (2021) and Las Vegas (2023-24) before signing with Miami on July 24, 2025, and spending training camp with the team. Armstrong entered the NFL as a sixth-round selection (209th overall) by Miami in the 2018 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Southern Miss (2014-17), where he appeared in 47 games with 40 starts and totaled 146 career tackles (108 solo), five interceptions and 34 passes defensed.

Jackson has appeared in 57 career games with 55 starts — 15 at left tackle, 13 at left guard and 27 at right tackle — in five seasons with Miami (2020-25). He started at right tackle in Miami's Week 1 matchup at Indianapolis. Jackson entered the NFL as a first-round selection (18th overall) by Miami in the 2020 NFL Draft after playing collegiately at Southern California.

Patterson has appeared in 45 career games in five seasons with Detroit (2021, 2023), Jacksonville (2022), Cleveland (2023-24), the New York Jets (2024), Atlanta (2024) and Miami (2025). He played in Miami's Week 1 matchup at Indianapolis. Patterson has converted 63-of-74 career field goal attempts (85.1 pct.), along with 109-of-113 extra points (96.5 pct.). He has also appeared in three postseasons contests with Jacksonville in 2022 and Cleveland in 2023. Patterson entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Minnesota in 2021. He played collegiately at Memphis (2017-20), where he appeared in 52 career games, converting 64-of-83 field goal attempts (77.1 pct) in four seasons with the Tigers.

Wilson Jr. has appeared in 73 career games with 16 starts in eight seasons with San Francisco (2018-22) and Miami (2022-25). He has recorded 2,370 rushing yards on 531 carries (4.5 avg.) with 18 touchdowns along with 74 receptions for 585 receiving yards (7.9 avg.) and five touchdowns in his career. Wilson Jr. appeared in Miami's Week 1 matchup at Indianapolis. He played collegiately at North Texas (2014-17), where he appeared in 41 games with 28 starts and totaled 561 carries for 3,205 yards (5.7 avg.) and 32 touchdowns, along with 70 receptions for 527 yards (7.5 avg.) and two receiving touchdowns.
