Miami Dolphins Make Roster Moves

The Miami Dolphins announced today that they have waived cornerback Ryan Cooper Jr., defensive tackle Neil Farrell and offensive lineman Chasen Hines. The team also released long snapper Blake Ferguson.

Cooper Jr. entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent in 2024 with Baltimore, where he spent the season on the practice squad and appeared in one game. He was signed to a reserve/future contract with Seattle at the end of the 2024 season and was awarded to Miami off waivers on Feb. 24, 2025. Cooper Jr. finished his collegiate career at Oregon State (2022-23), where he appeared in 23 games and recorded 82 tackles (52 solo), 1.5 sacks, four interceptions and 22 passes defensed in two seasons with the Beavers. He was a two-year starter at the College of San Mateo in California prior to transferring to Oregon State.

Farrell has appeared in 19 career games with Las Vegas (2022), Kansas City (2023) and Miami (2024), totaling 15 tackles (five solo), one pass defensed and two tackles for loss. He appeared in seven games and recorded two tackles (one solo) last season with the Dolphins. Farrell entered the league as a fourth-round selection (126th overall) by Las Vegas in the 2022 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at LSU (2017-21), where he appeared in 52 career games with 21 starts and recorded 144 tackles (55 solo), 7.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and five passes defensed. Farrell was a member of LSU's 2019 national championship team.

Ferguson has appeared in 72 career games in five seasons with Miami (2020-24), totaling eight special teams tackles (four solo) and one special teams fumble recovery. He also appeared in two postseason contests with the Dolphins. Ferguson entered the NFL as a sixth-round selection (185th overall) by Miami in the 2020 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at LSU, where he was a member of the 2019 national championship team.

Hines spent two seasons on Miami's practice squad (2023-24). He entered the league as a sixth-round selection (210th overall) by New England in the 2022 NFL Draft. Hines played collegiately at LSU, where he appeared in 35 games with 17 starts and was a member of the 2019 national championship team.
