The Miami Dolphins announced today that they have elevated linebacker Derrick McLendon and running back Jeff Wilson Jr. to the active roster for Sunday's game.
McLendon entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Carolina in 2024 and spent the offseason program and training camp with the Panthers before joining Miami's practice squad. He finished his collegiate career at Colorado (2023), where he appeared in 12 games and recorded 14 tackles (10 solo), 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and four fumble recoveries. He transferred to Colorado from Florida State (2019-22) where he played in 38 games in four seasons and recorded 61 tackles (19 solo), 7.0 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
Wilson Jr. has appeared in 74 career games with 16 starts in eight seasons with San Francisco (2018-22) and Miami (2022-25). He has recorded 2,370 rushing yards on 531 carries (4.5 avg.) with 18 touchdowns along with 74 receptions for 585 receiving yards (7.9 avg.) and five touchdowns in his career. Wilson Jr. appeared in Miami's Week 1 matchup at Indianapolis and in Week 2 against New England and has spent the season on the practice squad. He played collegiately at North Texas (2014-17), where he appeared in 41 games with 28 starts and totaled 561 carries for 3,205 yards (5.7 avg.) and 32 touchdowns, along with 70 receptions for 527 yards (7.5 avg.) and two receiving touchdowns.
