The Miami Dolphins announced today that they have signed cornerback Jack Jones and waived cornerback Ryan Cooper Jr.
Cooper Jr., who signed with Miami on May 27, 2025, entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent in 2024 with Baltimore, where he spent the season on the practice squad and appeared in one game. He was signed to a reserve/future contract with Seattle after the 2024 season and spent part of the offseason program with the Dolphins after being awarded to Miami off waivers on Feb. 24, 2025. Cooper Jr. finished his collegiate career at Oregon State (2022-23), where he appeared in 23 games and recorded 82 tackles (52 solo), 1.5 sacks, four interceptions and 22 passes defensed in two seasons with the Beavers. He was a two-year starter at the College of San Mateo in California prior to transferring to Oregon State.
Jones has appeared in 41 career games with 21 starts in three seasons with New England (2022-23) and Las Vegas (2023-24). He has totaled 136 tackles (105 solo), seven interceptions with four returned for a touchdown, 27 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. His four defensive touchdowns are the second most in the NFL since he entered the league 2022. Jones entered the NFL as fourth-round selection (121st overall) by New England in the 2022 NFL Draft after a collegiate career at Arizona State.
