The Miami Dolphins announced today that they have signed cornerback Ethan Robinson to the active roster off the practice squad and placed defensive back Elijah Campbell on the injured reserve list. The team also elevated offensive lineman Kion Smith and wide receiver Theo Wease Jr. to the active roster for Sunday's game.
Campbell has appeared in 68 career games with three starts in six seasons with the New York Jets (2020) and Miami (2021-25). He has recorded 24 tackles (14 solo), two passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery, in addition to 21 special teams tackles. He has also played in two postseason games with the Dolphins. Campbell entered the league as an undrafted college free agent with Cleveland in 2018. He also played for the Birmingham Iron of the Alliance of American Football (2019) and the DC Defenders of the XFL (2020). Campbell finished his collegiate career at Northern Iowa (2016-17), where he appeared in 24 games and recorded 87 tackles, 15 passes defensed and eight interceptions after transferring from Northern Illinois.
Robinson entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami in 2025 and spent the offseason program and training camp with the Dolphins. He finished his collegiate career at Minnesota (2024), where he started 13 games and recorded 42 tackles (29 solo), 3.0 tackles for loss, three interceptions, 11 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Prior to Minnesota, he spent three seasons at Bucknell (2021-23), appearing in 31 games with 26 starts and recording 154 tackles (124 solo), 1.0 sack, 6.5 tackles for loss, five interceptions, 25 passes defensed and two forced fumbles.
Smith has played in 22 career games with two starts at right guard in two seasons with the Dolphins (2023, 2025). Smith also spent two seasons on Miami's practice squad (2021-22) and the 2024 season on injured reserve. He entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent in 2021 with Atlanta, where he spent the offseason and training camp before signing with Miami. He was a three-year starter at Fayetteville State (2016-17, 2019), where he earned first-team All-CIAA honors in 2019.
Wease Jr. entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami in 2025 and has spent the season on the practice squad. He spent his final two collegiate seasons at Missouri (2023-24), where he started 26 games and totaled 109 receptions for 1,566 yards (14.4 avg.) and 10 touchdowns. He was named a team captain in 2024 and was a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll recipient (2023, 2024) during his time with the Tigers. Prior to Missouri, he spent four seasons at Oklahoma (2019-22), where he appeared in 36 games with 17 starts and registered 64 receptions for 1,044 yards (16.3 avg.) and 10 touchdowns.
