The Miami Dolphins announced today that they have released fullback Alec Ingold and kicker Jason Sanders.
Ingold has appeared in 107 career games with 58 starts in seven seasons with Oakland/Las Vegas (2019-21) and Miami (2022-25), recording 35 rushing attempts for 56 yards (1.6 avg.) and two touchdowns, along with 75 receptions for 611 yards (8.1 avg.) and four touchdowns. Ingold played in 66 games with 47 starts in the previous four seasons with Miami, totaling 20 carries for 34 yards (1.7 avg.) and two touchdowns while adding 47 receptions for 372 yards (7.9 avg.) and one touchdown. He earned one Pro Bowl nod (2023) and appeared in two postseason games with the team (2022, 2023). During his time with Miami, Ingold was also a three-time team captain (2023, 2024, 2025), a two-time Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominee (2023, 2024) and the team's 2022 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award nominee. Additionally, he earned the team's Don Shula Leadership Award in 2023, presented to the player who best exhibits leadership on and off the field. Ingold was also the club winner of the Ed Block Courage Award in 2022, which is selected by the Dolphins' athletic training staff and symbolizes professionalism, courage and inspiration while serving as a role model in the South Florida community. Ingold entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Oakland in 2019 after playing collegiately at Wisconsin.
Sanders has appeared 116 career games in seven seasons with Miami (2018-24), converting 187-of-221 field goal attempts (84.6 pct.), including 33-of-48 from 50-plus yards (68.8 pct.), and 259-of-268 extra points (96.6 pct.). His 84.6 field goal percentage is the best in franchise history, and he holds the record for most consecutive field goals made by a Dolphins kicker with 27. Sanders earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2020 and appeared in two postseason contests with Miami in 2022 and 2023. He entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick (229th overall) by Miami in the 2018 NFL Draft after a collegiate career at New Mexico.
