The Miami Dolphins announced today that they have signed wide receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr. off New Orleans' practice squad and placed wide receiver Tyreek Hill on the injured reserve list. The team also signed linebacker Caleb Johnson to the practice squad.
Hill has appeared in 145 career games with 127 starts in 10 seasons with Kansas City (2016-21) and Miami (2022-25). He has recorded 819 receptions for 11,363 yards (7.2 avg.) and 83 touchdowns, along with 114 rushing attempts for 819 yards (7.2 avg.) and seven touchdowns. On special teams, he's had 92 punt returns for 1,055 yards (11.5 avg.) and four touchdowns while adding 14 kickoff returns for 384 yards (27.4 avg.) and one touchdown. Hill has played in 15 postseason contests with 14 starts with both Kansas City (2016-21) and Miami (2022-23) and won Super Bowl LIV with the Chiefs. He is a five-time first-team All-Pro (2016, 2018, 2020, 2022 & 2023) and an eight-time Pro Bowl selection (2016-23). Hill entered the NFL as a fifth-round selection (165th overall) by Kansas City out of West Alabama in the 2016 NFL Draft.
Johnson has appeared in 65 career games in four seasons with Chicago (2021) and Jacksonville (2022-24), recording one tackle, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in addition to 37 special teams tackles (24 solo). He has also appeared in two postseason games with Jacksonville in 2022. Johnson entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Chicago in 2021. He played collegiately at Houston Christian (2016-20), where he appeared in 39 career games with 25 starts and recorded 278 tackles (103 solo), 10.0 sacks, one interception, four passes defensed, one forced fumble and six fumble recoveries.
Wilson Jr. has appeared in 83 career games with Dallas (2019-21), Miami (2022-23) and New Orleans (2024), recording 121 receptions for 1,480 yards (12.2 avg.) and 12 touchdowns. He has also recorded 36 punt returns for 196 yards (5.4 avg.), along with three kickoff returns for 64 yards (21.3 avg.). Wilson Jr. has played in three postseason contests with Dallas (2021) and Miami (2022-23). He entered the NFL as a sixth-round selection (208th overall) with Dallas out of Boise State in the 2018 NFL Draft.
