Dolphins make trade with Denver

The Miami Dolphins announced today that they have agreed to terms on a trade with Denver to acquire a 2026 first-round pick (30th overall), a 2026 third-round pick (94th overall) and a 2026 fourth-round pick (130th overall) in exchange for wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and a 2026 fourth-round pick (111th overall).

Waddle has started 78 career games in five seasons with Miami (2021-25), recording 373 receptions for 5,039 yards (13.5 avg.) and 26 touchdowns. He also started two postseason games with the Dolphins. Waddle recorded three consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons with Miami from 2021 to 2023, becoming the first player in franchise history to do so. His 5,039 yards are the most by a Dolphins player in the first five seasons of his career and rank sixth in franchise history, while his 373 receptions and 26 touchdowns both rank eighth. In 2021, Waddle set an NFL and Dolphins rookie record in receptions (104) and the franchise rookie record in receiving yards (1,015), earning PFWA All-Rookie Team honors and the team's Dan Marino Most Valuable Player Award, selected by the South Florida media. He was the first Dolphins rookie to win the team MVP award since Zach Thomas did so in 1996. Waddle entered the NFL as a first-round selection (sixth overall) by Miami in the 2021 NFL Draft after a standout career at Alabama, where he was part of the Crimson Tide's 2020 National Championship team.
