The Miami Dolphins announced today that they have agreed to terms on a trade with the New York Jets to acquire a 2026 seventh-round selection in exchange for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, pending a physical.
Fitzpatrick has appeared in 120 career games with 115 starts in eight seasons with Miami (2018-19, 2025) and Pittsburgh (2019-24). He has recorded 680 tackles (454 solo), 21 interceptions with four returned for touchdowns, 60 passes defensed, 1.0 sack, six forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries. He started 14 games with Miami last season and totaled 74 tackles (56 solo), one interception, six passes defensed, 1.0 sack, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. Fitzpatrick, who has also started in four postseason contests, is a three-time first-team All-Pro selection (2019, 2020, 2022) and a five-time Pro Bowler (2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024). He entered the NFL as a first-round selection (11th overall) by Miami in the 2018 NFL Draft after a collegiate career at Alabama.
