The Miami Dolphins announced they have signed the following players to their practice squad: quarterback Tim Boyle, wide receiver Robbie Chosen, wide receiver Dee Eskridge and defensive tackle Naquan Jones. The team also released running back Anthony McFarland Jr. from the practice squad.
Boyle has appeared in 20 career games with 5 starts with Green Bay (2019-20), Detroit (2021), Chicago (2022), and the N.Y. Jets (2023). He's completed 114-of-183 passes (62.3 pct.) for 934 yards with four touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He originally entered the league as an undrafted college free agent with Green Bay in 2018. He finished his collegiate career at Eastern Kentucky, where he started all 11 games in 2017 and completed 201-of-327 passes for 2,134 yards with 11 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He transferred to EKU in 2016 from the University of Connecticut, where he played three seasons (2013-15).
Chosen has played eight NFL seasons with the N.Y. Jets (2016-19), Carolina (2020-22), Arizona (2022) and Miami (2023) totaling 120 games played and 86 starts with 379 receptions for 5,082 yards (13.4 avg.) and 30 touchdowns. Chosen also has 16 career rushing attempts for 98 yards (6.1 avg.). He played in nine games with the Dolphins in 2023, catching four passes for 126 yards (31.5 avg.) and one touchdown. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the N.Y. Jets in 2016. He played collegiately at Temple.
Eskridge has appeared in 24 career games, having spent three seasons with Seattle (2021-23). He has recorded 17 receptions for 122 yards (7.2 avg.) and one touchdown, while contributing 428 yards on 17 kickoff returns (25.2 avg.). He entered the NFL as a second-round selection (56th overall) by Seattle in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Western Michigan (2016-20), where appeared in 45 games and recorded 122 receptions for 2,260 yards (18.5 avg.) and 15 touchdowns.
Jones has appeared in 36 career games with eight starts, having spent time with Tennessee (2021-23) and Arizona (2023). He also appeared in one postseason game with the Titans in 2021. Jones has recorded 62 tackles (27 solo), 3.5 sacks and two passes defensed. He entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Tennessee in 2021. Jones played collegiately at Michigan State, where he was a four-year letterwinner (2017-20) and recorded 78 tackles, 3.0 sacks, 12.5 tackles for losses, three passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in 46 career games and five starts.
McFarland Jr. signed with Miami on Aug. 19, 2024. He played in 17 games during four seasons with Pittsburgh (2020-23), where he rushed for 146 yards on 42 carries (3.5 avg.) and caught 11 passes for 87 yards (7.9 avg.). He also recorded nine kickoff returns for 237 yards (26.3 avg.) during his time with the Steelers. McFarland Jr. played collegiately at Maryland (2017-19), where he recorded 1,648 yards on 245 carries (6.7 avg.) with 12 touchdowns and added 24 receptions for 199 yards (8.3 avg.) and one touchdown. He entered the NFL as a fourth-round selection (124th overall) with Pittsburgh in 2020.
