Miami Dolphins Make Roster Moves

MIAMI – The Miami Dolphins today announced the following roster moves: claimed quarterback Luke Falkoff waivers from Tennessee, claimed wide receiver Tanner McEvoyoff waivers from New Orleans, placed center Jake Brendel and linebacker Mike Hullon injured reserve and released tackle Sam Young.

Falkwas a sixth-round pick (199th overall) by Tennessee in the 2018 NFL draft before being waived on Aug. 31, 2018. He was a four-year letterman (2014-17) and three-year starter at Washington State, where he was a three-time All-Pac 12 selection and won the Burlsworth Trophy, given to the nation's top former walk-on. He holds Pac-12 and Washington State career records for passing yards (14,486), total offense (14,086), passing touchdowns (119), completions (357), pass attempts (534) and total plays (2,306).

McEvoyspent the past two seasons with Seattle (2016-17), where he played in 29 games and recorded 14 receptions for 253 yards (18.1 avg.) and two touchdowns. He was waived by Seattle on Aug. 26, 2018 before being claimed by New Orleans, who waived him again on Aug. 31, 2018. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Seattle on May 6, 2016.

Brendelplayed all 16 games for Miami in 2017 and appeared in one regular season and one playoff game for the team in 2016. He was initially signed to the Dolphins practice squad on Oct. 11, 2016 before being promoted to the active roster on Nov. 19, 2016. Brendel originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Dallas on May 6, 2016.

Hullhas played all 32 games for the Dolphins in 2016-17 and also appeared in three games with the team in 2015. He has four career starts and has totaled 42 tackles (27 solo), one interceptions, one pass defensed, one fumble recovery and 27 special teams tackles (19 solo) in his career. Hull originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on May 8, 2015.

Younghas played in 76 games with 20 starts during his NFL career. He played in 18 games with seven starts for Miami from 2016-17 after he was signed as an unrestricted free agent from Jacksonville on March 11, 2016. Young was originally a sixth-round pick (179th overall) by Dallas in the 2010 NFL draft.
