Miami Dolphins Sign Sieler to Contract Extension

The Miami Dolphins have signed defensive tackle Zach Sieler to a contract extension through the 2029 season, it was announced Monday.

Sieler is an eight-year veteran, a 2024 team captain and the reigning Dan Marino Team MVP. The Dolphins claimed Sieler off waivers from Baltimore on Dec. 5, 2019. Since then, he has appeared in 85 games with 65 starts, totaling 306 tackles (167 solo), 30.0 sacks, two interceptions with one returned for a touchdown, 15 passes defensed, five forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries.

In 2024, Sieler led Miami's defense with 10.0 sacks and 13 tackles for loss while recording 55 tackles (38 solo), one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. His 10.0 sacks were the second-most in the NFL among defensive tackles and tied his own single-season franchise record for the most sacks by a defensive tackle that he set in 2023. He is the first Dolphin to record 10.0-plus sacks in consecutive seasons since Cameron Wake in 2016-17.

Sieler entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick (238th overall) by Baltimore in the 2018 NFL Draft after a collegiate career at Ferris State.
